Aberavon RFC is pleased to announce the creation of the all new Business Networking Club called the '1876 Club'.
Utilita Energy, Britain’s fastest growing independent energy provider, will power the 1876 Club as the main sponsor.
The aim of the 1876 club is to connect the rugby and the business community using Aberavon as the driving force. Each event will have a guest speaker that has either been involved in rugby and has moved into business or comes from a business background with no rugby experience.
All events will be informal.
"We have many sponsors at our club and it adds value to the relationships by establishing the 1876 Club, which will be an avenue to promote business to business activity amongst our sponsors and partners.
The opportunity to attend our Business events is not just for our connections. We welcome any businesses," said Chris Davies, Aberavon RFC Commercial and Marketing Manager.
The 1876 Club events will be predominately held at Aberavon RFC, however there will be some events spread across the unique town of Port Talbot.
There will be a main focus on breakfast events with some lunches and dinner events to be added to the calendar. The first event will be held in November.
Each event will support a charitable cause.
Utilita Energy, the Clubs preferred Energy Partner, is the main sponsor of the 1876 Club. The relationship sees Utilita as the back of shirt sponsor of both the new home and away kits and a renaming of part of the ground to the ‘Utilita Terrace’.
Utilita’s success story- challenging the so-called Big Six- has in recent years been nothing short of remarkable: it reached half a million customers in April – up from just 200,000 as recently as July 2015 – and has trebled its staff numbers in 12 months to around 1,500 by August 2017. Since launching in November 2016, Utilita Business Energy has been committed to giving small and micro businesses a fairer deal on energy.
