1961 Champions
I am sure that we would all like to be successful in sort and win a title, whether it be Cup or League. Can we all therefore congratulate our former players who played in that successful Championship winning side of 1961. Fifty years have gone by since Aberavon won the prestigious Welsh Rugby Championship title. A fantastic achievement! Well done. Can we also wish our present squad ‘Good Luck’ for the remainder of the season. The team is presently lying
fourth in the Premiership and moving in the right direction producing a marvellous win recently, thumping Llanelli 59 – 15. We are also still in the Cup and are hoping that 2011 will be our successful season by winning the Cup which has eluded us so many times in the past, especially in the latter stages of the competition.
Therefore, it would be great to recognise and congratulate our players of that Championship winning side at our forthcoming
Former Players’ Reunion on Saturday 2nd April meeting at 1pm for a 2:30pm KO versus Cross Keys at the Talbot Athletic Ground.
Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be having the marquee this year, but, will be holding the Reunion inside the club. We will take over a section of the bar along with the Phil Morgan Lounge, and also the Trophy Room.
Unfortunately this fragments the reunion, but I am sure that the boys will feel free to mingle and move freely between the rooms. Food will be provided after the match and will be served from the Trophy Room.

below will give us a good indication of the numbers necessary for the catering.
I look forward to seeing you on 2nd April. Remember, wear your Former Player’s tie! If you have not received one yet, they will be available on the day.
